MilitaryEzyInfo.com – As known from published research, 1750 of the 3,800 nuclear warheads are deployed and installed on strategic carriers. Of this number, 1,300 warheads are deployed on intercontinental ballistic missiles, another 300 nuclear warheads are deployed on strategic bombers and 150 nuclear warheads are deployed in Europe on US military bases in case of nuclear conflict.

The remaining warheads are in reserve in case of possible “technical and geopolitical surprises”, some of which will be eliminated by 2030.

In addition, the US Department of Energy has 2,385 nuclear weapons dismantled, bringing the total number of warheads to 6,185. 2,475 nuclear weapons are stored in a subway storage facility in Kirtland, New Mexico, and 1,785 are awaiting disposal at the Pantex plant in Texas. 1,620 warheads are at the Pacific Strategic Arms Complex (SWFPAC) and Kitsap Naval Base.

In total, there are about eleven nuclear weapons storage facilities in the US and five more in Europe (Turkey, Germany, Italy, Belgium, and the Netherlands).

As previously reported, the United States is ready to sign the forthcoming Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms if the conditions for the “right treatment” are met. The START III treaty expires in 2021.
