According to the media, it is about improper conditions of storage and maintenance of the air fleet of Nezalezhnaya.

The incident became known after the corresponding publication telegram channel “Military Observer”. In the published photos, we can see that a military aircraft is standing under the open air space of one of the units, but the machine from bad weather is just a part of the ship covered with tarpaulin material.

It is worth noting that a thick layer of ice formed on the wings of the aircraft, making the fighters unfit for combat. In another photo, one of the guided missiles is also iced over.

Information on the unit from which the photo was taken remains unclear.

As Military Affairs writes, such incidents are not uncommon in Ukrainian units. Experts noted that the Ukrainian Air Force fleet has long been deprived of necessary maintenance and repairs are carried out without precautionary procedures, electrical equipment, and engines running. As a result, the machines break down quickly. The main actions of the troops are confined to the protection of military equipment and fire safety.

Earlier, the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhiy Drozdov, said that Ukraine’s air fleet consists of fighter aircraft manufactured between 1968 and 1991 and that Kyiv has not received a single new aircraft since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
